Values Join
A mindset tool for evaluating decisions: does this opportunity actually join with what matters to you, with a good use of time, and with something you can genuinely own, work on and manage, rather than something that depends on other people or circumstances. Modeled loosely on a SQL join.
The index
Whatever's happening — an environment, a cause, an event in your life — gets joined against this index and labeled as one of the three.
⚫ Fear
- Fear should be low
- Stupidity is low
- Worry
- Paranoia needs to be understood
🟠 Adamance
- Adamance exists in positive and negative ways
- Callousness, pride, loyalty, purpose
- Trust
- All context of peer pressure
🟢 Belief
- And then there is Belief, and how if others believe, it's easier to believe. And they say belief is almost as strong as the will — the will to survive.
- All these make virtue.
- Turn this index into an entry form: describe the situation, tag it against Fear / Adamance / Belief
- Cross-reference each tag with values, time well spent, and what's actually ownable
- Output: which category dominates, and what that implies about how to respond
- History table: past entries and how the labeling held up over time
This is meant to sit alongside your coaching notes practice — a structured second opinion, not a replacement for it.
